Rotherham have confirmed that they have extended Will Vaulks’ deal at the club by a year after exercising an option in his current contract.
The 25-year-old has been one of the outstanding performers for the Millers this season, impressing with his energy and work-rate in the middle of the park.
He has also weighed in with five goals which makes him the joint-top scorer for Paul Warne’s men in the league.
Such form saw him linked with a transfer to Cardiff and Sheffield United last month and a move could still happen in the summer.
However, Rotherham have triggered the option that will ensure they get a fee for the ex-Falkirk man whilst Warne told the official site they haven’t given up hope of Vaulks committing to a longer stay.
“By exercising this option, it gives us a bigger window of opportunity to hopefully try and sit down with Will to discuss the possibility of a longer deal.”
As you would expect, this news delighted supporters and here’s how some of them responded to the update on Twitter…
