‘Fantastic game’ – These Derby fans react to individual’s performance in Middlesbrough win

Derby County picked up a big win in their battle to avoid relegation from the Championship on Saturday afternoon, as they beat Middlesbrough 2-1 at Pride Park.

Lee Gregory’s first goal for the club and a stunning effort from Colin Kazim-Richards put the Rams 2-0 up with little more than half an hour on the clock, and although Middlesbrough pulled a goal back through Fulham loanee Neeskens Kebano before half time, the visitors were unable to find an equaliser.

That result has lifted Derby to 18th in the Championship table, moving them three points clear of the relegation zone, while also making it four wins in five games for Wayne Rooney’s side.

How much do you remember about Derby's season so far?

Perhaps not surprisingly therefore, plenty of Derby fans were delighted as they took to Twitter to give their thoughts on the game, and one player who came in for a fair amount of praise, was Lee Buchanan.

After his header across goal from a corner had set Gregory up for the opener, the 19-year-old left back played a big role in keeping ‘Boro at bay at the other end of the pitch, with WhoScored reporting that Buchanan won three tackles, and made three clearances and one interception throughout the course of the 90 minutes.

That is something that did not go unnoticed by those Derby fans, and here, we take a look at what some of those Rams supporters had to say about Buchanan’s latest performance.
