Bournemouth have completed the signing of former Chelsea and Crystal Palace centre-back Gary Cahill.

The 35-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal with The Cherries, following his exit from Palace this summer.

Cahill brings great experience to an extremely youthful Bournemouth squad, with the defender racking up over 600 appearances thus far.

Bournemouth's Steve Cook has been missing as a result of injury early in this Championship campaign, and with uncertainty as to when he may return, this could prove to be a very important signing

Of those appearances, nearly 400 of them have come at Premier League level, starring for the aforementioned London clubs, as well as Aston Villa and Bolton Wanderers in the English top tier.

The 35-year-old spent eight years in West London with The Blues, making just shy of 300 appearances during a very productive eight years with the club.

Cahill won the Champions League, two Europa Leagues, two FA Cups, a League Cup, and Two Premier Leagues at Stamford Bridge, proving to be an excellent leader, as well as an extremely talented defender during that time.

The Aston Villa academy graduate has spent the last two seasons with Crystal Palace, featuring 45 times in the Premier League for the South London club.
