Sheffield Wednesday chairman Dejphon Chansiri is confident the club will survive this season and remain in the Championship.

The Owls have one win in their last ten matches and find themselves five points off the relegation zone after a total loss of form.

In October, Wednesday occupied a play-off place but having picked up five points out of the last 30 available, they have slipped down 12 positions and face a tricky Christmas period.

There is a serious threat of being dragged into a relegation dogfight in the second half of the campaign if things do not improve.

Jos Luhukay has one hell of a job on his hands to turn things around, but he has been given the backing of the club’s owner in recent days ahead of the busy festive schedule.

And Chansiri told a fans’ forum last night that Wednesday are “are not going to go down.”
