Nottingham Forest missed out on a golden opportunity to close the gap on Leeds United in the Championship table on Wednesday evening.

Heading into the game, Sabri Lamouchi's side were five points adrift of the Whites as they hosted Reading at the City Ground.

Forest took the lead on the night with just ten minutes remaining of the contest, as Lewis Grabban fired home from close-range after Sammy Ameobi's shot fell perfectly into the path of the former Royals forward.

But like the first fixture between these two sides, that lead didn't last long. After a cross from Jordan Obita found Sam Baldock, the striker somehow managed to hold off four Forest defenders, before firing past Brice Samba in the Forest goal, with questions being raised as to whether the goalkeeper should have dealt better with his effort.

Forest couldn't find a breakthrough in the remaining minutes, and they were forced to settle for a point as they moved to within four points of Leeds, who currently occupy one of the automatic promotion places.

Plenty of Leeds United supporters took to social media after Nottingham Forest were held by Reading at the City Ground.
