Leeds United today confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Jamal Blackman on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea.

Is this a good signing for Bielsa's side? Is he guaranteed the number one spot?

We discuss....

Fairplay Orta - This is a a very good signing.

Leeds needed a keeper and they've got a proven Championship stopper in Blackman.

He showed at Sheffield United last season that he is a very capable player and he will fill a problem position for the Whites.

Alfie Burns

Cracking business – I was really impressed with Blackman at Sheffield United last season.

He is the perfect age to compete for the no.1 jersey with Bailey Peacock-Farrell, with Leeds having two promising goalkeepers now on the books.

Angus Gunn or David Stockdale would’ve been good options, but I believe this is the best goalkeeper signing Leeds could’ve made.

Louie Chandler

This is a great signing for Leeds.

It looked for a while that they were going to relentlessly chase David Stockdale to their own detriment so it is good to see them move on.

Blackman is probably a better signing than Stockdale would have been.

Leeds United fans often criticise their transfer policy, and rightly so, but the signing of Blackman, albeit on loan, shows that they can mix it with the big boys and sign players from top level sides.

But, with a signing of this calibre comes expectations. The Leeds United faithful will now be expecting this level of signing from now on, which could be problematic in the weeks to come.
