QPR ruined a lot of accumulators last night with a fine 3-1 win at Villa Park, lifting them to 15th and damaging Steve Bruce's automatic promotion hopes.

It was the Hoops' second win in three days, coming in a game they controlled from the 12th minute following Ryan Manning's opener.

Jake Bidewell made it 2-0 before half time, Luke Freeman wrapped the game up with eight minutes on the clock.

Even a late James Chester consolation couldn't dampen their spirits.

Owner Tony Fernandes couldn't hide his delight, taking to Twitter to applaud Ian Holloway, stating if there was one match he wanted to win it would be against Villa.

There is no love lost between the Hoops and veteran defender John Terry, as was shown by the nature of the tweets.

Terry is an unpopular figure at Loftus Road after the Anton Ferdinand scandal of 2012, as well as his trolling of the Hoops earlier in the season. Terry played all 90 minutes of last night's match, only Villa's second defeat in eleven matches, but a result that leaves them seven points adrift of second-placed Cardiff City.

Following Fernandes' tweet, QPR fans expressed their delight at the result and at getting one over their favourite pantomime villain.
