Plenty of Ipswich Town fans have taken to Twitter to react to Toto Nsiala's message after the defender issued an apology for an exchange that occurred following yesterday's clash with Charlton Athletic.

The Tractor Boys suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of the Addicks as goals from Jayden Stockley and Alex Gilbey secured all three points for the hosts at The Valley.

After the game, Nsiala went over to Ipswich's travelling supporters and ended up having an argument.

Goalkeeper Christian Walton tried to be a peacemaker in this situation but he was subsequently shoved by a pitch invader who was dragged away by stewards.

As a result of this defeat, Ipswich missed out on the opportunity to close the gap between them and the play-off places in League One.

With the dust having now settled from this fixture, Nsiala has issued an apology on the club's official website for what he believes was a misunderstanding.

Nsiala said: "Following last night’s game, I would like to applaud and thank the supporters for travelling in their thousands and paying their hard earned cash, especially at this time of year.

"All of the lads and I fully appreciate the time and effort of the fans who support us up and down the country.

"Frustrations were high and I completely understand why, as that performance was not good enough.

"My intention was to acknowledge the supporters and tell them that we are doing all we can to put things right but unfortunately this did not come across how I intended.

"I apologise for the misunderstanding.

"I know the fans deserve more and I’ll be giving everything to deliver the performances and results that we can all be proud of."

Upon seeing Nsiala's message, plenty of Ipswich fans shared their thoughts on the apology on Twitter.
