Fabio Carvalho's future at Fulham remains an uncertain one, though there remains hope at the club that the young star will sign a new contract and put speculation around him to bed sooner rather than later.

The attacking midfielder has emerged on the scene with some top performances in the white jersey of Fulham, and that has naturally attracted interest from a number of big clubs both here in the UK and in Europe.

Indeed, the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid are among those to have been linked with him and that just underlines the quality and potential he has, plus it's naturally an attractive deal given that the fee involved to potentially sign him would be lower than Fulham would like because his contract is up in the summer.

For more reasons than one, then, the Whites want to get this deal sorted but the understanding is that the club remains confident that an agreement will be reached eventually, to at least protect them from losing Carvalho on the cheap - and obviously boost their chances of having him around for longer than this season.

Carvalho isn't far from a return to first-team action after injury, meanwhile, and the hope will be both on and off the field he delivers what Fulham fans are so hopeful that he can in the coming weeks.
