FA hit Brighton winger with lengthy suspension

Published

Brighton and Hove Albion winger Kazenga Lua Lua has been hit with a six match suspension, according to The Argus.

Lua Lua was sent off against AFC Wimbledon in the closing stages of the EFL Trophy victory and was automatically handed a two match ban which was applicable only in that cup competition.

But the Football Assocation have decided to impose a further four match ban on Lua Lua after finding him in breach of two FA regulations.

The FA charged him for using “threatening language and/or behaviour towards a match official following his 88th minute dismissal”.

They added that: “Furthermore, his language and/or behaviour in the tunnel area after the match was abusive and/or insulting and/or improper”.

Lua Lua was sent off against the Wombles after gesturing to the crowd and his FA charge also applies to his antics in the tunnel after the game.

The Brighton winger has also been hit with an £8,000 fine.

Brighton fans – is this justified? Does this ruin Lua Lua’s chances of returning to the first team? Let us know in the comments below…
