Birmingham have had their fair share of off-the-field problems in recent weeks, and their financial troubles seem to be catching up with them.

It had previously reported by the Daily Mail that the Blues were set to be hit with a 12-point deduction over a breach of Financial Fair Play.

If the points deduction was to come into play this season, then it would leave Garry Monk’s side just two points above the relegation zone, which is sure to make concerning reading for Birmingham supporters.

Their performances on the pitch seem to have taken an impact from their financial issues, and they were beaten 2-0 by Millwall recently.

This result evidently didn’t go down well with Birmingham’s chief executive, Xuandong Ren who was left furious at the result.

The Daily Mail claim that he smashed glasses and went into a rage following the loss, in an astonishing reaction.

Birmingham fans will be hoping that a resolution can be reached over the Financial Fair Play rules saga which has disrupted matters on the pitch it seems.

It hasn’t been a good few weeks for the Blues, as they were also fined £5,000 for their involvement in a scuffle between themselves and Aston Villa players in the derby at St Andrews.

This latest development caps off a miserable recent few weeks for Birmingham, and they will be keen to see their disciplinary hearing go well, otherwise they could be facing relegation from the Championship this season.

The Verdict:

Their season has gone spiralling out of control.

What is going on here then? They are evidently letting the off-the-field troubles affect them and results are suffering at the worst possible time.

They need to concentrate on turning their poor run of form around as quickly as possible, otherwise they could be in big trouble.
