Jordan Pickford’s departure from the Stadium of Light was inevitable this summer, after the 23-year old goalkeeper impressed in the Premier League last season, despite Sunderland suffering relegation back into the Sky Bet Championship.
A £30m transfer-fee will see Pickford become the most expensive British goalkeeper ever, and the third most expensive goalkeeper in the history of football, following Ederson’s move to Manchester City (£35m) and Gianluigi Buffon’s move to Juventus (£32.6m).
Pickford is currently away with the England under-21 squad, and has earned a call-up to the senior side in the last 12-months, despite only making 24 top-flight appearances in his career.
Following Everton and Sunderland’s agreement over Pickford, here is how Twitter reacted…
If Pickford is worth £30m, Madrid will have to stump up a fair few billion to afford De Gea

£30m is acceptable for Pickford. He's got another 15 years, is English, is obviously good, and there are obviously less GKs than other posit

£30m?! For Pickford?! That has to include '£5m for world peace' and other absured clauses, it can't be £30m up front?!

£30m for Jordan Pickford doesn't seem so bad when you remember it's what Spurs paid for Moussa Sissoko, and Pickford is a better midfielder.

£30m for Pickford. I'm sure he's a great keeper but people wonder why clubs buy perfectly adequate foreign players far cheaper. Madness

The extremely overrated Jordan Pickford set to become the 3rd most expensive keeper of all time. Got to love Sky money.
