Jordan Pickford’s departure from the Stadium of Light was inevitable this summer, after the 23-year old goalkeeper impressed in the Premier League last season, despite Sunderland suffering relegation back into the Sky Bet Championship.

Everton and Ronald Koeman have been linked with Pickford throughout the summer, and have finally matched Sunderland’s £30m valuation, having initially had a much lower offer rejected.
