West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Sam Johnstone made his England debut in the 1-0 win over Romania yesterday and his impressive performance has caused a stir among Baggies fans.

Johnstone is one of three goalkeepers in Gareth Southgate's 26-man squad for the upcoming European Championships and was handed his first appearance for his country in their final warm-up game.

Though England struggled to move out of first gear against Romania, Johnstone produced an excellent display – with his remarkable reaction save ensuring Southgate's side were able to come away with a victory at the Riverside.

With just a year left on his current deal at the Hawthorns and on the back of West Brom's relegation to the Championship, it is understood that the West Midlands club have placed a £20 million price-tag on the 28-year-old this summer.

Among the clubs reportedly keen are Manchester United, Tottenham, newly-promoted Watford, and West Ham United.

Johnstone's impressive display yesterday caught the attention of the Hawthorns faithful, with many hailing his performance and suggesting the club should up his valuation as a result.
