Angel Rangel has admitted that he is unsure about his future, with his contract at QPR coming to its end.

The Spanish defender joined the club in the summer following his departure from Swansea in the summer, and has made 20 appearances for the Loftus Road side this season, with both of his goals for the club coming in a 2-2 draw away to Stoke at the end of November.

Taking to Twitter following QPR's 2-1 win away to Sheffield Wednesday on the final day of the season on Sunday, Rangel posted picture of the club's squad, describing his respect for those involved at the club and its fans.

The Spaniard also admitted that he "doesn't know what the future holds" for him, thanking QPR for allowing him to be part of the club.

Rangel hasn't featured in Rangers' last four appearances of the season, having not featured since a 4-0 win at home to former club Swansea on the 13th April.

The verdict

It seems that there is still much to be decided for Rangel in the summer, and the 36-year-old seems to be keen on one last hurrah as he approaches the end of his career.

With QPR still yet to appoint a manager since the sacking of Steve McClaren at the start of April, this is indicative of the uncertainty that the delay in appointing a replacement has led to around the club.

Until Rangers appoint their new boss, it will be difficult for decisions on the future of players such as Rangel to be taken, and that could allow other sides to take advantage of the situation.
