Leeds United will be hoping to win promotion this term and cash in on what has been a superb first season under manager Marcelo Bielsa.

The Whites, led by their enigmatic manager, have been superb in the main in the Championship, and sit top of the table following a midweek win over Swansea City which saw them leapfrog Norwich at the summit of the table.

There's been some fine performances from various players in the Leeds squad this term, but one man who has come in for special praise is striker Kemar Roofe, who was singled out by Ian Holloway as the star man for the Whites this term.

Speaking for Talksport via a report on Leeds Live, Holloway said of Roofe:

"I like Clarke. He has been playing on the wing, but I am going to go for Kemar Roofe. He came from Oxford. He has got 14 plus two assists, so I think he has been sensational for them. Playing up in the middle in a front three isn’t easy, and I think he is only going to get better.”

The praise will no doubt be well received from Roofe, who has really developed as a player since making his move to Elland Road a few seasons back, and he is a firm fan favourite amongst the Whites faithful.

Holloway, who sits more as a pundit now, knows the Championship like the back of his hand having led Blackpool to promotion previously, as well as having spells with the likes of QPR.

The Verdict

Roofe is key for Leeds and it's not hard to see why Holloway is full of praise for the forward.

He's been vital in how Leeds play going forward, and if the Whites are to have some success, then Roofe will be key.

The 20 goal mark is in sight too, and if he can get there, then Leeds might well just reach their goal.
