Experienced former QPR and Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has spoken to the Express about the appointment of Marcelo Bielsa to the Leeds United hotseat.

And Holloway believes that Bielsa could have got a move to the Premier League if he wanted, speaking of his admiration and 'excitement' at seeing the former Argentina coach in the Championship.

“I was so excited by the Bielsa factor, I can’t wait to see it unfold. He’s a fantastic manager. It is fascinating to me, someone of Bielsa’s experience to come and test himself in the Championship.

“I reckon he could have got a Premier League job if he wanted" added Holloway.

The impressive Bielsa has led Leeds to the top of the Championship with some scintillating displays thus far at Elland Road, and the club look to be one of the leading contenders this season to win promotion to the Premier League.

Holloway added that he believes that the club 'really look contenders' and that Bielsa chose the club on purpose, paying homeage to the size of the club as one of of the reasons Bielsa will have been keen to tackle such a project in the Championship.

"It would be very fitting for his career to make Leeds a giant in football again." added Holloway.
