Defender James Collins has been spotted at Tuesday night's Championship clash between Queens Park Rangers and Bristol City, Bristol Live reports.

Collins has been linked with a return to West Ham United, despite being released by the Hammers at the end of last season.

Burnley and Glasgow Rangers have also been credited with an interest in the veteran centre-half.

The former 51-cap Wales international had been with West Ham for six years after leaving Aston Villa, racking up 149 appearances for the Irons in his second stint in East London.

The 34-year-old also played for West Ham between 2005 and 2010 and has also represented Cardiff City, amassing over 400 senior career appearances.

With QPR and Bristol City both looking for experienced defenders, Collins' appearance at Loftus Road has sparked rumours that he could be joining either side.

The Verdict

Collins would be a useful asset for either Bristol City or QPR.

QPR desperately need reinforcements at the back and an experienced leader in their ranks and they will get glowing reports from West Ham fans, who did not want to see the Welshman leave.

Bristol City also need another centre-back due to injury concerns and a lack of depth in that department anyway and Collins provides a short-term solution in that position.
