The future of Derby's Craig Bryson remains up in the air, with the midfielder attracting interest from Scotland according to The Express.

His contract with the Rams is due to expire at the end of the season and this has seen both Kilmarnock and most recently, Hearts register their interest in signing him.

Bryson has made 23 league appearances for Frank Lampard's side as they challenge for a top six finish in this year's campaign.

But with a new contract yet to be offered to the Scotsman, it seems unlikely that his future could remain with the club.

At the age of 32, Bryson is going to want to have his long-term future resolved at the earliest of opportunities, but he'll be remaining focused until the end of this year's campaign.

He is the model professional and will feel as though he still has a part to play in Derby's promotion bid this season, with Frank Lampard's side still well in the hunt to reach the play-off places before the season is up.

But you need assurances as to where your future is going to be, and Bryson isn't getting that at this moment in time, which will be a slight annoyance for the Scottish midfielder.

This is his eighth year with the Rams and he has been an excellent servant to the club from start to finish, and deserves to be given some clarification on where his future lies.

Although, he'll surely realise that he could be in line to return to Scotland, whether that be either at Kilmarnock or Hearts, it remains to be seen.

But you cannot fault his commitment, as Bryson has been at the heart of Derby's success in recent years, and he'll leave a notable void in their side if he is to depart in the summer when his contract expires.
