Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp has revealed the secret behind winning a derby game, reports the club's official website.

Harry Redknapp is set for his first game in control of Birmingham City on Sunday when they take the short trip across Birmingham to take on bitter rivals Aston Villa in the Second City derby.

With just three points separating the Blues from the drop zone, this derby clash means more than just bragging rights in Birmingham.

There is a very real threat of relegation looming over Birmingham City and Redknapp has been brought in to avoid that fate.

Ahead of this weekend's derby match against the Villains, new Blues boss Harry Redknapp has said that he needs "cool heads" and people who can handle the pressure if they are to pick up any points at Villa Park.

Talking in his press conference ahead of the game, Redknapp said:

"You have got to have people that can handle it (a derby fixture), you have got to go out and play with cool heads.

"What you don't want is people going out, going crazy, steaming into mad, crazy tackles, picking up a yellow or red card early in the game and suddenly you are out of the game.

"The first 20 minutes, I have watched lots of Villa on the videos and they are very quick out of the blocks. "
