Leeds United director of football Victor Orta looks like concluding his first bit of transfer business of the summer, with the signing of winger Jack Harrison on loan from Manchester City for a second spell at Elland Road, as reported on Leeds Live.

Harrison was a prime target of Whites manager Marcelo Bielsa, and it looks like a deal could now materialise.

He enjoyed a mixed spell at Elland Road last season, showing flashes of his quality but ultimately failing to replicate it on a consistent basis.

With this in mind, can Harrison kick on under Bielsa in his second season at Elland Road?

We discuss........

George Dagless

"I think so.

"Bielsa clearly wants him and so that should be a good sign for him and the club.

"The Argentine knows what he likes and what he rates and so Harrison clearly has something he feels that he can work with.

"That suggests, then, that he'll be a success next season at Elland Road - especially with a year already under his belt.

"Expect him to do well."

Ned Holmes

"Yes, I think there is a great chance that he can. Bielsa put a lot of faith in Harrison last season and appeared to trust the Englishman, using him in 42 games last season, including both legs of the playoff semi-final.

"Having already built relationships with the squad on and off the pitch, Harrison should be more comfortable in his surroundings, which should aid his development.

"Leeds have made it no secret that they want to bring in multiple wingers this summer, which could mean Harrison plays less of a role this year but with Jack Clarke on his way out of Elland Road opportunities should still be readily available.

"Another season under a coach like Bielsa could do wonders for Harrison’s development, as could playing under heavy expectation, which will certainly be there with Leeds one of the favourites to win the Championship this season."

Jacob Potter

"I just cannot understand why they are signing him up for another season.

"Harrison wasn’t good enough for the Whites last season and I think there were better options out there for Marcelo Bielsa.

"He only scored four goals and was on hand to provide two assists for the Whites as they missed out on promotion to the Premier League.

"If you’re comparing his performances to Pablo Hernandez on the other wing for Leeds, he is a far better and more creative option to have for Leeds.

"They’re also paying a seven-figure sum for Harrison’s loan, and surely they money would be better spent elsewhere on a more experienced and proven option in the Championship?"
