Doncaster Rovers loanee, Pontus Dahlberg, is catching the eye of Championship clubs at this early stage of the season, Football League World understands.

Dahlberg was picked up by Doncaster in the summer, arriving on loan from Watford following their promotion into the Premier League.

The 22-year-old helped Richie Wellens' side to their first League One win of the season at the weekend, as the goalkeeper kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory over Morecambe.

Despite a tough start to the season for the Yorkshire outfit, Dahlberg has impressed, averaging over three saves every 90 minutes. He's kept three clean sheets in eight appearances across all competitions, which isn't going unnoticed.

Football League World understands that Championship clubs are already tracking the Swede, which might force Watford's hand when it comes to their use of him.

At this moment in time, Dahlberg hasn't made an appearance for his parent-club, despite signing at Vicarage Road back in January 2018.

Instead, Watford have opted to loan him out to FC Emmen, Hacken and, now, Doncaster.

Yet, it's been explained to Football League World that Watford might finally give the young goalkeeper his opportunity. Their plan for him had always been a long-term one, with the Hornets identifying the potential he has.
