Premier League outfits Brighton & Hove Albion and Watford are monitoring the situation of Swansea City forward Michael Obafemi, sources have exclusively told Football League World.

The one-cap Republic of Ireland international dropped out of the top flight last summer after swapping Southampton for the Swans for a fee that was reported to be between £1.5 million and £2 million.

Following a slow start to life in South Wales, the 21-year-old has found his goalscoring touch since the turn of the year, scoring 10 goals in 20 Championship outings in 2022 as opposed to just once in nine appearances in 2021.

Obafemi's recent form has not gone unnoticed, with top flight clubs watching the striker with interest ahead of the summer transfer window opening.

Brighton are one of those that are interested in the youngster, with Graham Potter seeking some competition for Neal Maupay and Danny Welbeck next season.

Watford, who could be playing in the Championship in 2022-23, are also tracking Obafemi, who scored four Premier League goals for Southampton in his 32 appearances for the Saints.
