Exclusive: Tranmere Rovers closing in on Bristol Rovers player signing

Published

on

Tranmere Rovers are on course to sign Bristol Rovers defender Tom Davies on a free transfer with the player set for release from the Gas at the end of this month, Football League World can reveal.

The Gas are set for a summer of change after their drop into League Two at the end of last season and one of those sees Davies leave at the end of his contract, which expires this month.

Indeed, the defender could well face his former side pretty quickly next season in the fourth tier, with him on course to sign for Tranmere on a free transfer, as Micky Mellon goes about shaping his squad now he is back at the helm at Prenton Park.

Tranmere, of course, made the play-offs last season but were knocked out by Morecambe and the plan next year will be to make an assault on the top seven once more, with Davies aiming to lend a hand.
