The Agent's View is an exclusive content strand that comes directly from Ricky Pattenden, an agent for Every Aspect Sports Management, who offers insight into the life of an agent,  his perspective on EFL ongoings and transfers, and so much more.

The phones are on silent and the emails are off.

For 1 or 2 hours every week I get to talk shop through our new weekly column with Football League World.

How good does it feel to talk candidly and not behind the iron curtain of the agents world… Lovely!

It's well known that in 2015 Fifa decided to change the regulations surrounding agents, overnight we all became “intermediaries”, scrapping the extremely difficult exams which previously needed to be passed, and welcoming a new process to become an agent.

Now anyone with £500 and no history of fraud was in.

For the most part, the general feeling was the Wild West was to ensue and anarchy would reign in boardrooms, rogue “intermediaries” causing a plethora of problems and headaches for chairman, managers and technical directors alike across the EFL.

But has anything really changed with how clubs utilise agents?

Do players now need more support than ever and have their needs changed?

What do agents do to support their clients off the pitch?

What role does social media play from an agents and players perspective?

How is the market changing across the EFL?

Over the next few months, we will cover all of the above and much more.

We will look at the January transfer market, the manager merry go round and also look into what being an agent/intermediary will look like in this ever changing, turbulent world of football that we all love so much!
