Sunderland are expecting further interest in Anthony Patterson and would sell the goalkeeper at the right price, sources have exclusively informed Football League World

The 22-year-old has enjoyed an impressive rise at the Stadium of Light over the past year or so - beating out Lee Burge and Ron-Thorben Hoffmann to become first choice last term before helping them win promotion from League One and catching the eye with his performances at Championship level.

Tony Mowbray has repeatedly praised the Sunderland academy graduate and tipped him as a player with a bright future but the Black Cats boss is far from the only one impressed.

Leicester and Wolves have both been linked with Patterson already but sources have exclusively informed FLW that Sunderland are expecting further interest in the shot-stopper and would be willing to sell him at the right price.

Everton are keen on the towering keeper and FLW understands their interest could be one to keep an eye on.

It is unlikely to be cheap to prize Patterson away from the Stadium of Light as he penned a new long-term deal in the summer that keeps him under contract until 2026.
