Everton are interested in signing Coventry City's Viktor Gyokeres before the transfer deadline, Football League World can reveal.

The Premier League strugglers are set to appoint Sean Dyche as their new manager and he will hope to be busy in the coming days as he looks to strengthen the squad he is inheriting, whilst he is likely to have a decent budget available as Anthony Gordon closes in on a move to Newcastle United.

And, FLW have been told that Gyokeres is a player that the former Burnley chief admires, although the Sky Blues are holding out for around £18m for their star man, who has entered the final 18 months of his contract in the Midlands.

The Swedish international has been outstanding once again in the Championship this season, scoring 12 goals in 27 appearances for Mark Robins' side, who are 15th in the table and seven points away from the play-off places.

It's no surprise to see the Toffees are targeting a new attacker as only Wolves have scored fewer than Everton in the top-flight so far in the campaign.
