A host of EFL clubs are interested in the loan signing of Reading youngster Tennai Watson, a source close to the club has exclusively revealed to Football League World’s Chief Editor Sam Rourke.

The 21-year-old full back has spent the opening half of the campaign on loan at League One outfit Coventry City, making a total of just three league appearances for the Sky Blues so far.

The defender was brought in to play regularly under Mark Robins, however a source close to Football League World has revealed that the injury sustained by the player he came in for was not as bad as first feared, thus leading to Watson falling down the pecking order at the club.

Watson has largely found his game time limited at St Andrew's, leading to suggestions that he could well be loaned out to a club where he would in theory be afforded more game time, with his current temporary deal with the Midlands based side expiring in January.

Watson is no stranger to the lower reaches of the EFL, with the 21-year-old having previously spent time on loan with AFC Wimbledon during the 2018/2019 campaign, therefore there is sure to be a host of clubs that would be open to bringing in the talented defender in January.

Meanwhile, Coventry currently sit on the cusp of the play-off places in the third division, with the Sky Blues looking to register yet another victory this weekend as they play host to mid-table Lincoln City.
