Leeds United are set for a rollercoaster of a season with eccentric new manager Marcelo Bielsa taking over.

Nicknamed "El Loco", the Argentinian arrives at Elland Road with a big reputation and he is renowned for his unorthodox methods and his bizarre 3-3-3-1 formation.

You can watch Bielsa's matches on the new EFL highlights show every Saturday at 9pm on Quest TV.

And at the launch of the new highlights show, FLW writer Jay Williams spoke to host Colin Murray and pundits Dean Ashton and Ian Holloway to get their opinion on whether the appointment of Bielsa will bring success back to Leeds again.

Murray believes that it could be a perfect match, given the unorthodox methods in which Leeds have operated in the past few seasons.

He said: “It’s Leeds so if he’s unorthodox, it’s the perfect place to be in the 21st century.”

Holloway, who was managing Queens Park Rangers in the Championship last season, thinks that this could be a terrific appointment for the Whites, praising Bielsa for being a top manager.

The former Blackpool manager said: “People don’t know it yet but the bloke’s a genius. I can’t wait to see him in action.

“Wouldn’t that be marvellous if Leeds United suddenly got on a roll again and kept going this time and went all the way? If he gets Leeds United going, that could be some story, couldn’t it?”

Ashton also believes that this is an impressive appointment but he does question whether they have enough firepower up front to win promotion.

Speaking about Bielsa, Ashton said:  "He’s got an unbelievable amount of experience and actually it’s a great coup for Leeds to bring him in. They’re still missing that Chris Wood; that player that gets you all the goals you need."

Leeds recently signed Patrick Bamford and former England striker Ashton believes he needs to replace Wood's goals from the 2016/17 season to fire the club to success.
