Former West Ham midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker has praised the strong mentality that West Brom boss Darren Moore has, as he looks to guide Albion back to the Premier League.

The promotion-winning midfielder, who is now a pundit, trained with the Baggies in pre-season.

Moore was seeking some extra experience to help his side during the build-up to the current campaign and Reo-Coker was drafted in.

And, even though he was only working under Moore for a short period, it's fair to say he made a very positive impression: "I think he is fantastic. I think it’s great and it makes a big difference for players because he’s played in the league himself, I remember playing against him and now he’s a manager."

Reo-Coker also backed the winning mentality of Moore, who won promotion with Albion as a player, to shine through during what is a demanding season in the second-tier:

"He understand the club, he understands the league and even he says it, there’s no such thing as a playing style in the Championship, it’s about getting promotion because that’s all the fans care about.

"It’s about finishing in the top six at least because then you’ve got the play-offs.

"Sometimes you are going to have days when you can’t even train because of the constant grind of Saturday-Tuesday, Saturday-Tuesday and it’s making sure you get that winning mentality in the players' head, grinding out results and getting results and he understands all of that fully."

Moore's men are only three points behind the automatic promotion places ahead of the clash with Sheffield Wednesday at the Hawthorns.
