After suffering play-off heartache last season, West Bromwich Albion have made an excellent start to their Championship campaign under Slaven Bilic and have put themselves in a brilliant position to win automatic promotion.

The Baggies are currently second in the league table and are starting to build some serious momentum - they've lost just once in the league all season, are unbeaten in their last ten matches and have won their last six.

Albion will return to the top of the Championship table with a victory over Wigan Athletic this evening and will extend their lead over third-placed Fulham to 13 points.

There's still a long way to go in the promotion race, but it's fair to say that Albion's start to the season under Bilic has given Baggies fans every reason to feel confident about their chances of returning to the Premier League.

In an exclusive interview with Football League World, Nigel Quashie has given his take on Albion's promising start to the campaign under Bilic.

Speaking exclusively to Football League World Chief Editor Sam Rourke, the former West Brom midfielder admitted that he's been blown away by the impact the Croatian has made since taking charge at The Hawthorns in the summer.

He said: "I think what he's done is taken control of the man management side of things and got the best out of the squad, not just the team. He's really stamped his authority on where he wants to take the club.

"He's been a breath of fresh air. He's put his methods across and it seems that it's been very straightforward for the players to grasp.

"They've taken it into their games and I've been really, really impressed with how he's come into the football and really taken control of what direction he wants to go in."
