Former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Nigel Quashie has revealed who he thinks Slaven Bilic’s best summer signing was in a Football League World Exclusive.
It has been a good season for the Baggies this term and they are currently on track to secure automatic promotion to the Premier League.
Slaven Bilic took over the club in the summer, and the Croatian boss has managed his side to a successful season to date, having suffered just one minor blip with a run of seven games without a win in December and January.
Bilic’s impressive first season in charge at the Hawthorns has come with a number of key performances and consistency from a number of players.
Matheus Pereira, Grady Diangana and Romaine Sawyers have been excellent throughout, whilst the likes of Charlie Austin and Hal Robson-Kanu have played an important role in the centre forward position.

Having come into the club last summer, Bilic opted to bring in the likes of Pereira, Diangana, Sawyers and others – but identifying who the best summer signing is at the club is a hard thing to do, given their good form.
Quashie was speaking to Football League World’s Chief Editor Sam Rourke last week, and he attempted to answer that very question.
“I think I would go with Pereira, I think Diangana coming in and getting game time has been really important for him.
“Sometimes these sort of moves don’t work out, but Slaven Bilic has done really well in selecting the players to bring in.
“They (Pereira and Diangana) have responded well to the group, and they are getting game time. It works both ways, I think Diangana, Krovinovic, Pereira and Austin with his experience – the manager has done really well in the transfer market.”
West Brom’s 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest at the weekend saw them remain four points ahead of second placed Leeds United, and they will be looking to potentially extend that lead against Bristol City on Saturday.
