Hull City defender, Jacob Greaves, has caught the eye of Newcastle United and Crystal Palace, a source has exclusively revealed to Football League World.
Greaves, 20, has emerged as a leading light at the KCOM Stadium this season under Grant McCann, helping Hull win the League One title and return to the Championship at the first time of asking following a dismal 2019/20 campaign.
The defender has made 41 appearances across all competitions, including 39 starts in League One for the Tigers, ending the campaign as a first team regular as Hull stormed to the League One title ahead of Peterborough United.
Hull’s return to the Championship is to come, but there’s interest bubbling away in Greaves, who has caught the eye of those in the Premier League.
A source has revealed to Football League World that Newcastle and Crystal Palace are two clubs that are showing an interest in Greaves ahead of the summer transfer window opening.
Both have managed to stay largely free of the threat of relegation in the Premier League this season, with focus now on building towards 2021/22 in the top-flight.
Greaves, who also had a 35-game loan spell with Cheltenham in 2019/20, is contracted to Hull until the summer of 2023 after agreeing fresh terms in November 2020.
McCann commented at the time: “Jacob’s one of our own. He loves the club. He’s come on leaps and bounds in the last 12-14 months. He’s been brilliant.”
