Morecambe have had a bid rejected by Halifax Town for midfielder Kieran Green, Football League World understands.

Stephen Robinson’s side picked up a crucial 4-3 win over Doncaster Rovers over the weekend to haul themselves up and out of the relegation zone in League One.

Results are important at this early stage of 2022, but there’s also added pressure on Robinson strengthening his squad head of a likely fight for survival.

Football League World understands that Morecambe have seen a bid rejected for Green, with Halifax holding firm when it comes to the 24-year-old at this early stage of the transfer window.

Green, though, continues to attract interest from a number of EFL sides as his impressive form in the Conference Premier continues.

The midfielder has struck twice in 21 appearances this season, as well as registering four assists in an ever-present league campaign so far.

Halifax sit second in the Conference Premier table currently, two points adrift of Chesterfield, having played a game more than the league leaders.

Quiz: Can you name which club Morecambe signed these 20 strikers from?
