Middlesbrough and Blackburn Rovers are ready to revisit their interest in Oliver Burke from the summer in the January transfer window, Football League World can exclusively reveal.

Boro and Rovers both took a late look at Burke in the last market, but could not get deals for him over the line by the deadline at the end of August.

A move away from Bramall Lane is far from off of the table despite that, though, with Football League World being told that the Championship pair remain interested in securing Burke's services and that they will revisit the opportunity to potentially sign him in the January window.

Burke's time at Sheffield United began in 2020 with him unable to help prevent the Blades from dropping into the Championship from the Premier League at the end of last season.

He's played for the likes of Nottingham Forest, West Bromwich Albion, Celtic and Red Bull Leipzig so far during his career, too, and at the age of 24 has certainly clocked up a fair amount of miles.

He could well be on the move again come the January window, though, with both Boro and Rovers identifying him as a player that they feel could help bolster their respective attacking ranks.
