Leeds United are the early pace-setters in the Sky Bet Championship this season and fans will be rather pleased to see that there is no hangover from last campaign.

It was an intriguing summer for the Whites as Pontus Jansson left the club as well as Kemar Roofe whilst the likes of Helder Costa came in and Jack Clarke returned on loan.

Meanwhile, a late arrival on loan from Arsenal in the shape of Eddie Nketiah caught the imagination given Marcelo Bielsa's ability to work with young players and, last night, we saw the attacker make his home debut for the club.

He capped it off with a simple finish to win the game against Brentford, too, and that left him earning several plaudits, including a watching on Ian Wright.

Certainly, he's starting to look sharp as he earns match-fitness and, therefore, it begs the question as to whether he should start at the weekend against Stoke.

We caught up with former midfielder Michael Brown for his take on the selection situation awaiting Marcelo Bielsa this weekend, then, and he told Football League World exclusively that it is a very close call at the moment:

"His goal against Brentford was a similar goal to the one at Salford and underlined the sort of player he is, sharp and quick to the ball.

"I know a lot has been said about Patrick Bamford and he has been criticised at times but he and the team have started fantastically well.

"Nketiah looked really quick last night and when I watched him at Salford where he got a lot more minutes he looked very tidy and his link-up play was good.

"It’s getting close between him and Bamford because he scored at the weekend against Wigan.

"Only recently Bielsa said Nketiah was a couple of weeks away fitness-wise so that might make his decision but in having that recent game time I would say he is getting very close to starting."
