Wigan Athletic started this season in fine form but in recent weeks have found themselves edging nearer the dropzone in the Sky Bet Championship.
Far from in dire straits, the Latics just need a few more good results to get themselves safe in the second tier this campaign.
That in mind, then, we caught up with former Latic and EFL on Quest pundit Michael Brown to grab his thoughts on things at the DW…
“I think they have got enough to stay up.
“I think they’ve got a good manager in Paul Cook. I think the takeover that went through caused a little bit of uncertainty.
“Peter Reid is there helping with that experienced head but can they get a couple of experienced players in to help Paul Cook because predominantly it’s his League One team?
“He knows the leagues now but will he have to change his style to go a bit more direct and dogged to get results?
“We’ve seen his style of play and he loves to play attractive football and at the end of last season, they played Southampton off the park.
“But in regards to this season’s opponents, they might need to find an alternative to make them a little bit harder to beat when things aren’t going so well.
“They’ve been so used to winning but now can they just pick up a point when they’re against it and keep it a bit tighter for the next few weeks?”
