Sheffield Wednesday are proving one of the early pace-setters in the Championship this season with them winning three games and losing just once in the first four matches.

Certainly, it'll be pleasing to see for Owls fans after a summer window that saw Steve Bruce left the club and the concern that was generated by that.

Lee Bullen is once again in charge as a caretaker manager and has made no secret of the fact that he would like the job, whilst the players are obviously responding to his methods.

And, as per an exclusive interview with former midfielder-turned pundit Michael Brown, the 48-year-old has certainly done himself no harm with his early results.

Brown told Football League World exclusively:

"Obviously, he’s done a good job so far and he’s been there a long time now which is an advantage."

Indeed, this is not the first time Bullen has been at the helm on a temporary basis and, until he is given the gig full-time, other names will persist to be linked.

Brown is certainly of the opinion that that is the case:

"They’ll still be looking at other names, I would think, that have had the experience of getting promotion. They tried that with Steve Bruce and he was getting results before what happened in the summer.

"Bullen does know the club and the leagues, though, and he’s done as much as he can to get the job but you see the likes of Gary Rowett mentioned too so it'll be interesting to see who gets it. Bullen has done what he has needed to."

Bullen, for many, has done exactly what was required in order to boost his chances of getting the role and Dejphon Chansiri certainly has plenty to mull over at the moment.
