Marcus Forss has provided an update on his future at Brentford amidst persistent rumours of the 20-year-old potentially making an early return to Griffin Park in January.

The 20-year-old Finn has been in fine form whilst being on loan at League One side AFC Wimbledon, notching an impressive 10 goals in 13 games so far, leading to many a Brentford supporter to suggest that the youngster could well be recalled by Bees boss Thomas Frank come January.

Ollie Watkins has been the leading light for the Bees up top this term, hitting 13 goals in his opening 22 Championship outings, however the striker's teammates have been guilty of not sharing the goal scoring burden with the 23-year-old, with only French winger Bryan Mbeumo getting close on eight.

The opportunity to recall Forss in January could be too good for Frank to turn down, with the Dane's faith in the 20-year-old's ability being clear for all to see after he handed Forss a new and improved contract back in September.

FLW Journalist Chris Thorpe caught up with the young forward recently to discuss the striker's future, whilst the Finn also commented on the recent transfer speculation that has seen him linked with Premier League clubs.

"Obviously I’ve got the security of signing a long-term deal, but for me it’s about playing well, performing well and doing the best I can to see where that takes me.

"Everyone knows I would’ve liked to have played at Brentford this year, but obviously I need to play regular football and I’m here to show everyone what I can do.

"I don’t really think about that sort of stuff really (transfer speculation), I just keep thinking about how I can help Wimbledon at the moment and the ways I can look to keep scoring and playing well."
