AFC Wimbledon striker Marcus Forss has give his views on the departure of Wally Downes and the subsequent appointment of Glyn Hodges as the club's successor in the managerial hot seat.

Downes left the League One club by mutual consent back in mid-October following controversies surrounding a series of bets the 58-year-old placed on several football matches.

It brought about a sad end to the former Crazy Gang member's tenure at the club, with Downes being fondly remembered by Wimbledon fans for his role in steering the club away from a potential relegation to League Two.

Hodges was first brought in as caretaker by the club's hierarchy before taking on the role full time in October, and has since steered the Dons up to 19th place in the league table, with Hodges having seen his side pick up two wins, three draws and one defeat since he took on the role permanently.

Forss has been a big part of his manager's success so far, with the youngster having netted seven goals in the process, thus firing Wimbledon higher up the table.

FLW Journalist Chris Thorpe recently sat down with the Finnish forward to talk about Wimbledon's change in manager and asked whether the 20-year-old had noticed any changes in playing style since Hodges took charge.

"No, not really, I have liked both managers that I have had so far, so I have no problem and I think we have just picked up results and that’s the only thing that has been different.

"That’s what you need in football, you need to pick up results to get higher up the league.

"I have my own targets, everyone just keeps motivating me and keeps me positive.

"As I have said before, it’s my job to keep going as well as everyone else’s and we should all be looking to do our best for the manager."
