Luton Town will have one eye on next season as they head into their final game of their League One campaign, where a win would all but clinch the title ahead of Barnsley.

The Hatters have been hugely impressive all season, and one man in particular has stood out in their promotion-winning league campaign.

Jack Stacey has made the right-back spot his own and has hardly put a foot wrong for Mick Harford's side as they march towards the Championship.

In an exclusive interview with Football League World's Jacob Potter, Stacey insisted that his side are confident of clinching the League One title, heading into the game with AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.

"We're at home, unbeaten there this season so we've got to back ourselves and obviously we're happy with promotion.

"But we want to go one step further and win the title on Saturday in front of our fans."

Luton confirmed their promotion in midweek, with both Portsmouth and Sunderland dropping points at a pivotal stage of the season.

Former Reading man, Stacey revealed that the squad believed they could challenge for promotion at the start of the season after recently being promoted from League Two last year.

"We had a meeting at the start of the season and we sat down and talked out our expectations and a lot of the players that have played at this level already, which I personally hadn't.

"They believed that we had the squad to get into the play-offs."

Stacey admitted that the expectation was to finish inside the top six at the start of this year's campaign, but that changed as the season progressed after a run of impressive results.

"If we're honest it was to probably try and get in the play-offs, but as the season went along, you adjust your expectations and in the end we were aiming for promotion."

It certainly won't be a walk in the park for Stacey and his Luton team-mates though, as they come up against an AFC Wimbledon side that will be hoping to retain their League One status on the final day of the season, with relegation a possibility.
