As ever, the Sky Bet Championship play-off race is proving to be a fascinating spectacle this season.

Every week, the teams who occupy that top six seems to change with a number of teams, arguably all the way down to 12th in the league, still in with a realistic shout of making the coveted play-offs.

At the time of writing, Leeds, West Brom, Aston Villa and Bristol City occupy third, fourth, fifth and sixth respectively, but with the likes of Derby, Middlesbrough, Forest and Preston waiting in the wings, it's still wide open.

Football League World managed to exclusively catch up with former player Liam Rosenior at the 2019 EFL Awards at the Grosevenor House Hotel on Sunday, and he delivered his verdict on the tense play-off race in the Championship to FLW Chief Editor Sam Rourke.

Rosenior exclusively told us: "Right now I think it'll be Leeds, West Brom, Bristol City I think will get in, Lee Johnson has done a fantastic job and then it'll be Aston Villa."

With the Wembley final one of the biggest games in English football, the prize of Premier League football is priceless, and Rosenior was clear as tho who he thinks can go all the way.

Rosenior said: "It's a lottery, I think it's the team with momentum, whichever team from Leeds or Sheffield United that miss out will find it very hard to dust themselves off and go again, so Aston Villa for me, they're in the driving seat."
