Leeds United coach Mark Jackson has been offered the MK Dons job, sources have exclusively informed Football League World

The League One side sacked head coach Liam Manning earlier this month after defeat to Fleetwood Town left them just one place off the bottom of the table.

Club captain Dean Lewington has stepped up as caretaker boss and picked up a 2-0 win over Portsmouth in his first game in charge but it seems the Dons are now closing in on their permanent replacement for Manning.

Reports indicated earlier this week that Jackson was on the Dons' radar and sources have now informed FLW that he has been offered the job.

The 45-year-old does not have any experience in first team management but such a gamble paid off in the appointments of Manning and Russell Martin.

Jackson has risen up the ranks at Leeds since returning to Elland Road as a coach in 2015. He replaced Carlos Corberan as U23s head coach in 2020 and led the side to the Premier League 2 Division 2 title in his first season in charge.

Earlier this year, he was promoted to first team coach by Whites boss Jesse Marsch.
