Discovery+ and Quest pundit Jobi McAnuff believes Paul Heckingbottom will have a positive influence on Rhian Brewster's Sheffield United career.

Sheffield United has been a tricky environment to adapt to for Rhian Brewster since his move from Liverpool in the summer of 2020.

Brewster failed to open his account for the club as the Blades were comfortably relegated from the Premier League last season. That disappointment was increased when the 21-year-old fell out of favour in the Championship under Slavisa Jokanovic earlier on this term.

Brewster has shown his strength of character though to force his way back into the fold and in getting amongst the goals towards the end of the Serbian's reign and at the beginning of Paul Heckingbottom's before picking up a knock last week.

Brewster's deal at Bramall Lane runs until the summer of 2025 and therefore he may have the opportunity to become the next cult hero at the top of the pitch for the Blades.

When asked why Brewster's career at United has started so slowly, Jobi McAnuff exclusively told Football League World:

"We've seen Rhian Brewster at Swansea, he was fantastic and that was big factor in taking him to Sheffield United. He's still a young lad, he will be affected sometimes by a lack of confidence. From Brewster's point of view, the faith Heckingbottom's shown in him will mean a lot and he'll be looking to kick on now."

Heckingbottom's arrival in the dugout seems to have produced a fresh slate for all members of the squad. Something that will be refreshing for Brewster even after he broke into the Serbian's first team plans just before the change was made.

Hopefully, the injury he has sustained is not too severe and he can re-assume his position up front before the turn of the year in continuing the Blades' positive momentum. United have an array of attacking talent in Brewster's absence but also a contingent that he could thrive when playing ahead of in the coming months, as the Blades look to make an assault on the play-off places.
