Ipswich Town have made a bid for Peterborough United midfielder Jack Taylor, sources have exclusively informed Football League World.

The 24-year-old was linked with a move to Portman Road in the summer but stayed with Posh and has been a regular fixture in League One this term – featuring 19 times for the play-off chasers.

However, Ipswich have reignited their interest in Taylor ahead of the January window and sources have exclusively informed FLW that they have made a bid for the midfielder.

The size of the bid is not known at this point but the Irishman's current contract with Peterborough runs until the summer of 2024 so it may not be cheap for them to prize him away from their League One rivals.

Taylor has notched up 110 appearances since joining Posh in a six-figure move from non-league side Barnet in January 2020.

It appears Kieran McKenna is keen to strengthen in midfield as he looks to boost the Tractor Boys' promotion hopes as reports have also claimed that Middlesbrough's Massimo Luongo has been training with the League One club.

After 22 games, second-placed Ipswich are two points back from league leaders Plymouth Argyle and two clear of Sheffield Wednesday in third.
