Huddersfield Town are keeping tabs on Torquay United striker Jamie Reid along with a host of other clubs, a source close to the player has exclusively confirmed to Football League World.
Danny Cowley is eager to add more firepower to his attack to help their push up the table and away from the relegation zone this season. The Terriers currently sit in 19th in the Championship having just had a seven-game unbeaten run ended by Preston North End.
Cowley’s side are nine points behind the play-off places and will certainly be looking up rather than over their shoulders heading into January. One player that they believe can help that push is Torquay United’s in-form striker Jamie Reid.
Reid has featured in all of the Gulls’ league fixtures this season as they push for promotion back into the Football League for the first time since the 2013/14 season. In that time, Reid has netted a very impressive 14 goals, having scored a staggering 29 league goals the season before.
Cowley will be keen to ensure he has adequate cover up front heading into the second half of the season with Premier League clubs reportedly circling for their top scorer Karlan Grant, as his fine form continues.
Reid would either provide solid cover for the 9-goal striker or will serve as a replacement should Grant move to the Premier League.
