Fulham are fielding a lot of interest in Jay Stansfield heading into the January transfer window but will resist the urge to send the forward out on loan, Football League World understand.

Marco Silva's side are thriving in the Championship and Aleksandar Mitrovic is spearheading their push for a return to the Premier League.

However, bubbling beneath the senior side is Stansfield, who made a Championship debut recently in the win over Cardiff City.

That followed a senior start in the EFL Cup against Birmingham City, where the 18-year-old's goal set Silva's side on their way to a 2-0 victory.

Football League World understands that Fulham are fielding a host of interest in Stansfield and have had a 'dozen enquiries' about a deal.

However, the Cottagers will resist the temptation to send him out on loan and keep him close to their first-team plans.

They have a vision of Stansfield getting increased game time when possible this season, with the forward believed to have a bright future ahead of him in West London.
