Fulham are growing a little concerned over the lack of progress that is being made concerning Fabio Carvalho’s contract with the player’s current deal running out at the end of this season, Football League World has been told exclusively.
The young attacking midfielder looks a real gem and, naturally, Fulham want to try and keep hold of him and at least guard against losing him on the cheap, with that obviously quite possible at the moment as he approaches the final six months of his current contract.
Indeed, he’s been linked heavily with some of Europe’s biggest clubs in the recent past but Fulham had been hoping that the guaranteed first-team football he’d be getting at Craven Cottage would be enough to sway him to stay, though as yet we’re no closer to finding out what’s going to happen.
Football League World has been told that an offer of around £25k-a-week has been tabled for the player as part of his new deal but, of course, pen has not been put to paper and it just remains to be seen what’s going to happen to bring this saga to a close.
The Mail reported earlier this week he might not sign a new deal until a change of his management company goes through, and so the waiting game appears to have a while to run yet.
