Exclusive: Frontrunner emerges as Nottingham Forest & Fulham battle for Liverpool player

Fulham are leading Nottingham Forest in the race to sign Neco Williams from Liverpool this summer, Football League World has been told.
The Welsh international, who has helped his country qualify for the World Cup over the current international break, is expected to leave Anfield in the summer due to a lack of game time.
With Trent Alexander-Arnold ahead of him in the pecking order, regular football is obviously going to be hard to come by, whilst the FA Cup holders are poised to sign Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen as his deputy.
That should free up Williams to move on, with the Cottagers and Forest both keen on the 21-year-old. And, FLW have been told that it’s Fulham who hold the advantage in that battle at the moment.
Williams spent the second half of the previous campaign at Craven Cottage, scoring two goals and registering two assists in 14 games as Marco Silva’s won the Championship title.

Therefore, bringing him back to the capital has always been on the agenda for Silva.
However, Forest are sure to push them all the way, as Steve Cooper desperately searches for a right wing-back as they look set to miss out on signing Djed Spence permanently.
The England U21 international enjoyed a productive loan spell at the City Ground last season but he is now expected to join Tottenham.
