Fleetwood Town are interested in a deal for Brad Young at Leicester City, Football League World can exclusively reveal.

The Cod Army retained their League One status on goal difference last season and are now rebuilding under Celtic legend, Scott Brown.

Strengthening their goalkeeping department appears to be on Brown’s to-do list, with it Football League World’s understanding that Young at Leicester is someone that’s on the Fleetwood radar at this moment in time.

Young was picked up from Hartlepool United 12 months ago, despite the fact the goalkeeper was yet to make a senior appearance. He signed for Leicester for an undisclosed fee in July 2021.

Alex Cairns featured in 42 of Fleetwood’s 46 League One fixtures last season, proving to be the club’s No.1 for the majority of the campaign.

It was confirmed that Cairns was still under contract at Fleetwood when the club’s retained list was published. As a result of that, it remains to be seen what capacity Young would arrive in if Fleetwood press on with bringing him in from Leicester.
