Ian Holloway has given a revealing insight into where he see's his own career heading as he eyes up a potential return to football management.

The former QPR manager has been out of work since leaving the west London club back in May of 2018, following what was his second stint in charge at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

An experienced head at Football League level, Holloway is best remembered for the work he done at Crystal Palace and Blackpool, with the 56-year-old having guided both clubs to unlikely promotions to the Premier League.

With close to 1000 games under his belt as a manager, it is unsurprising that the ex-Millwall man is keen to once again show what he can do in the hot seat.

FLW Journalist Chris Thorpe had the chance to sit down with Holloway earlier this week to discuss what the next step could be in his successful career, with the 56-year-old giving an intriguing response on the matter.

"Never say never in anything, Holloway said.

"I’m in a nice situation in my life at the moment, I’m with my wife all the time, I’m with my family all the time, I’m learning new things.

"I'm thoroughly enjoying being in football in a different way, as 19 years of management can take it out of you.

"It’s not about the level, it’s about the ambition of who it is and what they want.

"I’d be looking for someone to trust me with their project.

"Blackpool gave me time and we achieved great things, and the same goes with Crystal Palace.

"I still miss the everyday responsibility of being there for someone and helping them if they have a problem, plus I want to get over 1000 games in management."

Ian Holloway was speaking at an event organised by The Sackrace, a website which features the latest news and football gossip on the managers at each of the major clubs.
